Victor Frankenstein- Protagonist, born to a good family that loves him and takes care of him very well. His family adopts a young girl named Elizabeth Lavinsa, who Victor spends his whole child-hood with and ultimately falls in love with. He goes to college in Ingolstad. He does not talk to his family for two years. After he learns a bit of Chemistry, Anatomy, and Alchamy, he goes off to a deserted town with a few miscelanious body parts that he has scavaged and begins to create the monster. He becomes depressed after the death of Justine Moritz. He incounters the monster on a a walk in the mountains where the monster gives his testimony and begs Victor to create him a mate. Victor agrees at first but during the middle of creating the She-Monster, decides not to and mutalates the body causing the monster to go on a Killing-Spree. Victor then marries Elizabeth. On their Honey-Moon the monster kills Elizabeth and runs away to the north wherer Victor follows him. Victor meets Robert Walton on the ship, gives him his testimony, then dies of old age.

Ok. Frankenstein starts out with Robert Walton's letters to his beloved sister. This is important to know to understand the story line. Frankenstein is a "Frame Story". A "Frame Story" is basically the name of a story that starts out in the view of one character's perspective and eventually ties together at the end. After Robert Walton gets done with writting his these letters to his sister, he encounters a man in the arctic wilderness who goes by "Victor Frankenstein". Victor is welcomed in to the boat by Robert and his crew and sits Robert down to tell him why he is up in the arctic by himself.
Victor starts off his story at when he goes to college at Ingolstad university. Victor spends around five years at the University learning Chemistry, Alchamy, and Anatomy. Victor is extremely interested in Alchamy, the study of creating life or turning things to gold. Victor goes off to a little deserted town off in the country to try and replicate the process of creating life. Victor spends around two weeks without sleep trying to bring life into the lifeless being that he has thrown together with miscelanious body parts that he scavenged. After a fortnight of diligent hardwork, Victor accomplishes what he came there for. As soon as the monster begins to move around in its bondages, Victor realizes the hideousness of the being and is sickened by it. Victor then runs away and abandons the creature to learn things on its own and discover the cruelty of mankind.
Victor, over the period around a year or so, finally recovers and goes back to Genevea where his family is expecting him. When Victor arrives he is confronted with horrible news. His brother has been killed, and by who they do not know. After investigating the William, Victor's brother, they came to the conclusion that he was strangled to death. The authorities did some more investigation and found a picture of Elizabeth Lavanza's birth mother in Justine Moritz's pocket. Elizabeth says that she gave that picture to William as a gift. When Elizabeth hears that Justine was found with the picture, she rejects the evidence and goes to comfort Justine for she knows that Justine is going to be accused of the murder. Victor see's William's body and realizes that the strangle marks were not that of a normal man but of something un-godly, something of his own creation. Justine is than tied, and condemned. Alphonse than dies due to the horror of Justine's death.
Victor than goes into a major depression because he knows that his creation is to blame for the death of Justine, but he can not say that a monster has killed his brother and Justine for he knows that people will think he's crazy. One day when Victor went out on a walk to the mountains, his creation comes to him and begins to tell him his story. The monster explains that he has lived in the sham-shack type thing attached to the DeLacey household and has been watching them and learning a multitude of things. He learns language, emotions, and descovers his hideousness during the time he spent at the DeLacey's. The monster tells all of this to Victor to say that he wants a mate. Badly. He even says that he will kill Victor if he does not comply with his demands. Victor shows an inhuman amount of courage in this situation, for he knows that if he submits to the monster's will, he will reek even more havock on humanity. The monster than seems to touch Victor emotionally, so Victor agrees to the monsters request and goes off to create his creation a mate.
Victor goes to an abandond island near a body of water to create the she-monster. Victor works dillegently for an extended period of time, but as he is about to finish the dreaded being, he looks up to a window in his workshop and sees the monster peering in grinning with an evil smirk. Victor than realizes he can not go through with his work, and mutalates the corpse right there in front of the monster. The monster becomes enraged and swears to Victor that he shall become a wretch to all mankind and he shall be with Victor on his wedding night.
Victor than goes into a panic, thinking that the monster is going to kill Victor on his honey-moon with Elizabeth, so he runs back to Genevea to have his wedding and be with his beloved Elizabeth. Victor spends some time with his soon to be wife and they end up getting married. The monster than kills Elizabeth, Victor finds out, and leaves his family to destroy his work himself. Victor than sets out to do so, and during the course of an over extended amount of time, Victor goes all the way to the north pole where he meets Robert Walton, which brings the story full-circle.
Victor ends his story, and dies of old age on the boat. the next day, Robert hears a noise and goes to see what it is. Robert walks into the cabin where Victor's body is and sees a form of inhuman stature standing over Victor's body. RObert than realizes it is Victor's creation. The monster than tells Robert how misserable he is and sets off to destroy himself somewhere where no one will find him.
